I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ve been informed that the management of the toll plaza at North Ryde, in there great wisdom and expertise in customer service has decided to give all the M2 Motorway users an added bonus this Christmas.
They ( M2 management) have decided to reduce operational hours for the lanes that service the Macquarie Shopping Centre, acquarie Business Park and the University.
These lanes will only operate for less than 2 hours per day during the peak hours for a period of at least 7 weeks with the possibility of this becomming a permanent arrangment.
I believe that this will begin as soon as the 16th December 2009 and will continue through to at least February 2010.
What this means is that all vehicles accessing or departing from these areas outside of the times will be forced to use the only two cash lane left on the motorway and forced to wait even longer in the queues, even if you have an electronic tolling device (E-TAG).
This motorway is one the most expensive roads per kilometer in the country, servicing the north west,which has minuminal public transport facitities.
The company (Transurban) and management treat their patrons with complete contempt and show no sign of local community support.
Most service companies increase their services prior to the Christmas / New Year period to cater for more people out shopping and visiting relatives
I just hope this issue can be taken up by some of the the media, the RTA or some of our more caring politicians, to help the people of the north west, show these big companies that without patronage they won\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t survive in todays economic climate.
Customer service means providing a service to your customers and patrons, not reducing it!
