Any new infrastructure in the past 15 years has been put into private hands with subsequent tolls; and those tolls continue to climb where the roads show NO signs of improvement. Look at the M2! It’s now up to $4.95 and what did they do? They took out the shoulder and put a third lane in!!?? But wait, there’s more!!! They then dropped the speed down to 80 km/h from 100 in turn! And if that’s supposed to help when there are still only 2 lanes going the through the E-Toll lanes!!. The third is still running through toll booths, half of which are unmanned anyway! THEN, oh wait, THEN we get to the tunnel, where we drop the speed down to 70, for it’s such a dark and carvernous hole in the ground that we must drop traffic yet another 10 k’s! Oh, and in case you though “bugger this” we put a cash cow camera just in front of the mouth of the tunnel to ensure that AFTER you paid your toll, should you speed, well, you’ve paid one hell of a toll to use an antiquated “motorway” anyway! By definition, the term motorway is at LEAST THREE lanes wide! How they can call that “thing” a motorway is beyond me! Then you have the E.D. $5.00 a pop to use such a short mess, and NO room for expansion! Thanks to the CCT, the merging cars into the southbound direction causes back logs all the way back into the Harbour tunnel! (Why is this idiot spell checker on this website not liking the spelling of harbour?? Was it too much to include the Queen’s English in this website??) The RTA is a joke! Those “oxygen thieves” suck money out of the NSW motorists at every avenue, and provide NOTHING back to Sydney’s roads! The government feels no need to better Sydney’s infrastructure, but instead spends billions on roads way out of Sydney. While that’s a necessity, the reality is millions of people drive every single day in Sydney too and from work. It would be a wise decision to include Sydney itself in upgrade of it’s roads; alas, no government has the courage to do so, for feel of upsetting the voters. Yet here we are paying hand over foot in tolls to use the shabby roads provided by private enterprise! So, if that’s the way it’s going to go, then get the damn necessary roads built under private hands!! Sure, there will be tolls, but it’s at least a choice we the motorists can make when we drive from here to there! Right now, there is NO choice, and look how the RTA (Road Maffia) strong armed people to using the E.D. or the L.C.T!?? Turn the roads that WERE there into really horrible roads, so rotten that you were FORCED to use the toll roads! Epping road went from 6 lanes to basically 2!!! “Oh no, there’s no strong-arming happening here!!!!!” Again, build the damn roads that we need, and let the “Road Maffia” do it’s bit to screw us into forcing us into using them, but hell, at least all the missing links will be finally put in place, even though using them means we can’t feed our children, or pay our mortgage, but hey, that’s why we are FORCED to vote or FINED if we don’t!!!!!! Because I just LOVE the notion of being “strong-armed” once again to vote for crap, or shite less I be fined for not picking between two smelly piles of dung!
